Patricia is the founder and co-owner of Dynamic Dance. She has lived in Abbotsford since 1979 and pursued her dream of providing a caring environment for children to learn the art of dance by opening Dynamic Dance in 1995. With the help of her husband Trevor the first location was developed on Abbotsford Way then moved to South Fraser Way in 2001 when the students had outgrown the first facility. In 2008 a new location was found in downtown Abbotsford which is where the studio is today. With the help of her daughters Kirsty and Ailsa she continues to work on providing the vision of a caring environment for children (and adults).

Kirsty MacGregor Parkes

Teaches: Jazz, Tap, Highland, Hip hop, Contemporary, Lyrical and Theatre Kirsty is a registered member of the Scottish Dance Teacher's Alliance and as such is qualified to enter students into competitions and medal tests. Kirsty has won many medals and trophies over her years of highland dancing both nationally and internationally. Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary and Theatre are also taught by Kirsty and she bring her years of dancing experience and love of dance to all her classes. She is an excellent choregrapher and has won many awards. As an owner as well as a teacher Kirsty is always available to answer any of your dance questions. |
Ailsa MacGregor Daley

Teaches: Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary, Theatre, and Hip Hop Ailsa started her dance life when she was 3 years old, starting with Highland. She quickly added Jazz, Tap, Theatre, Ballet and Lyrical. She was invited to dance in New Brunswick, and Orlando Florida. She first got a taste of Hip Hop in 1996 and she was hooked. She is always absorbing new styles, her Hip Hop style is everchanging. Along with many other awards, her Jazz group "Into the Night" placed third at Dance World Cup in 2007. She has also choreographed the opening ceremonies at the Rugby Sevens Tournament in 2009. Ailsa has been teaching since 2001 and teaches a wide range of genres including jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, theatre, and of course hip hop. As an owner as well as a teacher Ailsa is always available to answer any of your dance questions. |
Karen Mallinson

Teaches: R.A.D Ballet Lyrical and Jazz Karen who came to us from England started her dance education at the age of 2 1/2. She studied Ballet, Modern, Tap, Jazz, Pointe, Contemporary and National with Pamela Gray. Later she studied at Preston College UK, and Northern Ballet School Manchester UK. She has been instructed by R.A.D Examiners, professionaly and internationally recognized choreographers such as David Needham. Karen has her R.A.D ballet teaching certificate, as well as a National Diploma in Professional Dance and ISTD Practical teaching exam in Modern and Tap. Judi Ryan- Kellet

Teaches: Ballet Judi has been teaching ballet for over 25 years, she started dancing at age 3, studied RAD ballet and completed all the graded levels and Vocational levels. She Trained with an RAD examiner for 5 years and went to Banff Summer School and was excepted into the National ballet school to study ballet for a 5 week long summer school. Judi became a fully certified ballet teacher in 1987 and also studied Anatomy, and history of dance and has diplomas in both. She has entered her students in compeitions and has had many students dance professionally. Judi is currently working for the Royal Academy of Dance as a Mentor to students teachers entering into the teacher training programme. |
Kim Durham

Teaches: Acro Formally founder of Aerial Dance & Acro Academy Inc., located in Abbotsford, B.C., Kim built, headed and ran the Acro Program which made it a phenomenal success. Kim started her gymnastic career at the age of 4. As a 9-year old she won the Western Canadian Gymnastics Championship and was subsequently asked to train with an Olympian coach in the United States. Kim continued her gymnastic career until age 13, in addition to taking dance at Vi Cameron School of Dance from the ages of 8 to 16. Kim has coached gymnastics at both the recreational and National level over the years. For the past 9 years, Kim has been an Acrobatic Dance instructor teaching at both the recreational and competitive levels. Her work has garnered many choreography awards, including Choreographer of the Year and Diamond Choreographer at American Dance Awards (2004), Adjudicators Choice at both Dance Power and Peak Invitational festivals (2004), Teachers Choice at Surrey Festival (2006 & 2007) and an Arty Award for her contribution to Dance in Abbotsford (2006). In 2004 Kim's Sr. Acro group won 1st Place, Overall High Score at every competition they attended. They also won the Peak Challenge - a competition pitting the winners of all categories into one final competition. In 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 & 2009 her work took 1st Place at Showstoppers, Tacoma regionals. Also in 2005 her work to Overall High Score for the entire competition of all disciplines of dance, at Footloose. In 2006, both her large group pieces won overall awards at the Grand Championship Level II at Hawaii Dance Experience in Waikiki, Hawaii. Some of Kim's credits in the community include her choreographic contribution to the 2004 BC Summer Games held in Abbotsford, several pieces appearing at the 2006, 2007, 2008 & 2009 fortheluvofityouth on Granville Island, and in 2008 her acro appeared as part of the Opening Ceremonies of the Senior Summer Games in Abbotsford. Kim continues to share her love, passion and joy for the love of dance with her students of all ages. |
